A little history about our candle
This candle is named after Diatta. Diatta was born in 1920 and was one of the first resistors against French domination. She hailed from Senegal, specifically from the Casamance region, where she was revered as a heroine. She dissuaded the inhabitants of her region from participating in the war effort. She is also known for being a spiritual leader and healer.
